Dave Chappelle urges fans to boycott ‘Chappelle’s Show’

Comedian Dave Chappelle urged his fans to boycott ‘Chappelles Show’. On Tuesday he posted a lengthy video on Instagram and asked his fans to not stream the Comedy Central show until he gets paid.

“I’m begging you, if you ever liked me, if you ever think there was anything worthwhile about me, I’m begging you, please don’t watch that show,” Chappelle said. “I’m not asking you to boycott any network. Boycott me. Boycott ‘Chappelle’s Show.’ Do not watch it unless they pay me.”

In the majority of the 19-minute long clip, you can see Dave claiming that because of the contract he signed before suddenly quitting the “Chappelle Show,” he doesn’t get paid any additional money for his work; when at the same time the media companies continue making profit of off his work.

After the success of two seasons, he signed a $50 million contract with Comedy Central. After several production delays, Dave left the show. Comedy Central then released a shortened third season using unreleased sketches of Chappelle and he never got paid.
